EVE related programs

Postby Royco Starburst » 28 Jan 2007 07:22

Well, EveMon (if you are referring to it) can work with the xml file you can save from the eve-online site (My Character section). No need to put in your credentials if you don't trust them, but I have to note, that as an open source project anyone can verify that they don't post or otherwise manipulate the info you enter there! So, EveMon can help you to plan your skills training and even see what skills are available and decide if you want them (for those that haven't heard of EveMon).

I also use the QuickFit utility, a java application (runs on all type of systems) that allows to fit a ship and run simulations with the capacitor, to see how it will hold on battle, mining etc. You use the former xml file to import your skills and you start using it. Very easy and informative.

Links:
EveMon: http://evemon.battleclinic.com/
QuickFit: http://www.elegance-corp.net/quickfit/

Check them out, and if you don't want to use your accounts' credentials, just save the xml form of the skills page on the EVE website.

Another one is the EVE Combat Log Analyser (CLA).

It helps you to analyze the logs from any battles you took into EVE, from the logs that eve client holds in your system. Just block it with a firewall if you don't want it to connect to Internet, although it didn't ask for any account information.

Really nice and helpful. For more read this.

Agents Tutorial

Postby Yiorgos P » 02 Apr 2007 15:54

Well it is not a program but, hey, it will be valuable to all our newer members!
This is a video showing how to locate agents for a corp you already work, so you can advance quicker and get better rewards from them.

Staying with an agent might give you some higher LP to trade for a good offer (will change soon as described in a dev blog), but I don't see any good to keep using that lvl1 minus something quality agent, when you can locate easily an agent with positive quality and advance to a new lvl. After all good offers come only from a high lvl agent, so advancing to one is paramount for a new player.

Hope this will help:
Agents' Locating Tutorial.

Now for finding agents in a system, even if you don't know its corporation, try the services of the following link:
Agents DB.

Production Tool!

Postby Yiorgos P » 03 Apr 2007 09:55

For all our industrials out there here is a tool that will help you to better organize all or more of the production phases.

It is not the most intuitive tool out there, at least not for me :D, but after playing with it you can make it work...

Here is the link to download it: EveMeep,
and here you can find more info and talk to creators etc.: EVE-Online Forum's Thread.

For all of you who use Eve Mon and have problems with the current version (it doesn't update the skills you learn ... can't connect to the CCP site), I suggest you take the latest snapshot of the code and use that. Just unzip and run the exe. The link is ... EVEMon

EFT Tool!

Postby Yiorgos P » 19 Jul 2007 15:24

An alternative to QuickFit and maybe better tool for offline fitting a ship is the EFT tool.

You can read about it in this eve-o thread and download it from here.

It utilizes the new API keys so get them for your account (same as new evemon set up). Looking an outfit for our next gang squad? Start experimenting :)

Ahem...I'd say almost eve related...

Captain Pickard's virtual pastime. You need a torrent client like BitComet first.

Around 7mb of fun, if you turn off the sea gulls. Runs with eve client if you ain't shooting anything. Excellent relaxation stuff, no wonder Pickard was always on top of his ship mates.

All kinds of addons for variety from the creators page. Follow instructions and sail away. Not advised during pVp ops.

How To Set UP SISI!

Postby Yiorgos P » 21 May 2008 13:02

Ok get this pdf, while it is on the eve-files. It has a food guide on how to install SISI test server client on your PC. We will be using this once a week for some free gang training - see it as our own flight simulator :)
